Story of Dead End (2022)
Leon is driving to the Czech Republic with his daughter Dianka and two other people, Klara and Wojtek. Emil just robbed a bank and is in a car that looks just like theirs.
At the gas station, they end up trading cars, and Emil goes after them while Leon and his group argue about what to do with the money. Celina, a prostitute, takes advantage of the fact that they are not organized to steal the money for herself.
As betrayal is the name of the game, everyone meets up at a motel, where Celina’s pimp, Adrian, is also involved. Everyone wants the money and is suspicious of everyone else, but they all learn things about themselves through this.
Appearances in Dead End
Leon and Dianka are played by Juliusz Chrzastowski and Maja Wolska. They are a father and daughter. Their portrayal of a couple that doesn’t get along well but cares for each other is very realistic and true to life.
Anna Ilczuk plays Klara, a nosy woman who likes to tell people what to do and make them feel bad, even though she doesn’t have a great life herself. Ilczuk is annoying, but in a good way, because her character is always suspicious and greedy.
Michal Sikorski is Wojtek, the submissive catfish whose mother is always making fun of him, and he is telling a woman online that he is not who he says he is. Sikorski does a good job as the erratic Wojtek, who has a few brave moments but always goes back to being himself.
Emil, the bank robber, is played by Lukasz Garlicki. His performance is the best because he mostly does physical things and doesn’t have to say much.
Positive signs of Dead End
The story is written very well. It’s fun to watch because of how it turns and twists and how the characters talk to each other.
The dark color of the whole series and the way the colors fade into each other are also characters. The red highlights in the last scene in the back room are beautiful to see.
The sound in Dead End is perfect for both types of movies because it captures the mood of a comedy and keeps up the tension of a crime thriller at the same time.
In fact, the director should be praised for keeping that balance between genres so well. Even though crazy things happen in the show, it never feels too silly or stupid.

The idea of showing different characters’ points of view from different sides of the screen is great, but sometimes it makes it hard to tell where to look.
What does Celina inform Adrian?
Celina tells Adrian that she stole the money from the others, so they must still be in the forest. In reality, she sees Wojtek and knows that they are at the motel, but she doesn’t tell him that she stole all the money.
Klara, meanwhile, finds the money Leon hid and threatens to tell social services about him if she doesn’t get her share of the money. Dianka sneaks into Celina’s room from the balcony to show her she is wrong. Leon sends her back while he searches the room.
Wojtek is trapped in the bathroom by Dianka, who sneaks out with the extra money and heads to the bar. Emil sneaks into the room and knocks Wojtek out after he gets out of the toilet. Then he looks for the money.
He finds Dianka after hearing Klara say that she hid the money.
