Dhanush’s ‘Om: Chapter 1’ Delays Release to Avoid Epic Showdown with Rajinikanth’s Latest

Om: Chapter 1, the much-anticipated action drama starring the dynamic duo Dhanush and Mammootty, has hit a pause button on its original release plans. Fans eagerly awaiting its debut on October 16, 2026, will have to hold their breath a little longer, as the star himself confirmed a change of plans.

Dhanush took to social media to share the update on the film’s journey. "In challenging times like these, reshuffling a release date comes with its own hurdles," he expressed knowingly. "Our beloved icon, Rajinikanth sir, has a film premiering on October 15th. Out of immense respect and admiration we’ve always held for him, we decided to push Om to a later date."

Aiming to avoid a cinematic clash, the actor-producer further shared, "November is also off the table, since Suriya’s Scene has secured the spotlight. We respect their decision to announce the date first and believe that major releases should coexist with harmony, keeping the industry’s greater good at heart."
