The story starts with a woman talking to a man as she gets ready for her wedding, which she thinks of as a funeral. She tells Kokdu about her worries, and he tells her to run away, but soldiers kill Kokdu by shooting him with an arrow, and the girl watches as her lover dies in front of her eyes.
Later, the girl was taken to Pilasu’s place, where she drank with him. When he took her hairpin to stab Pilasu in the neck, the general of the army saw her and ran towards her, but she killed herself by sticking that pin into her neck.
We find out that the story we’ve been seeing is being told by an old woman who is a patient in the hospital to Han Gye Jeol (Im Soo Hyang), who was a doctor there. The old woman tells Han Gye Jeol the story of Kokdu. A woman (Jung Young Joo) accused Han Gye Jeol of killing his father and hitting her. The director asked her to apologize to that patient because she had financial ties to the hospital, but Han Jeo
She almost fell down the stairs on her way back, but Kokdu caught her. He also dropped a necklace there, which she found. It had the same ring that the patient had talked about earlier. She thinks the necklace is her lucky charm and keeps it with her. Gye Jeol also shows the ring to his younger brother, who at first doesn’t believe his story.
Gye Jeol Meeting Kokdu and Discovering the Truth Behind her Mother’s Death
Gye Jeol goes to an interview for her new job, where she meets Kokdu, whose name there was Jin-Woo, who is the judge who has come after 99 years to kill someone who looks like him. Gye Jeol tells Kokdu that she is no longer working at her old job because the patient’s family fired her after that patient died.
Later, Jin Woo called her and wanted to set up a meeting. He also told her that she was now working for him. Gye Jeol’s brother, Han Cheol, wants to talk to Kokdu because he thinks he has something to do with the death of their mother. Gye Jeol then meets her new director, who tells her to work hard. She thinks this is just a way to make money, though, because Jin Woo has her back and loves her, and he also comes to help her when the director scolds her.
When Gye Jeol was eating at the café, Han Cheol came in and asked her to leave so he could tell her why Jin Woo hired her. Jin Woo then came in and told Han Cheo that he wanted to have a drink with Gye Jeo, which made her very happy. When they were sitting together, Gye Jeol told Jin Woo that she wants to be a doctor because her mother died in a car accident and she couldn’t save her because she didn’t know.
Tragedy Strikes: The Unfortunate Death of Jin Woo
She wanted to ask him something, but he had too much to drink and fell asleep, so she tried to wake him up and his wallet fell out of his pocket. Gye Jeol sees a picture of his family in his wallet, and when he told her, she gave him back his wallet.
Later, the director came and scolded Gye Jeol for making Jin Woo drink. Jin Woo did surgery while drunk, and the patient, whose name was Mi Soon, died. Later, Gye Jeol meets Jin Woo at a café. When she left, she thought no one liked her, and she also wanted to see proof that Jin Woo was adopted, which tells her that Mi Soon was his mother.
Jin Woo asked Gye Jeol to give him back the ring, and she did. In the end, Jin Woo is no longer picking up his phone when it rings. Gye Jeol sees that it’s snowing in the summer. She backs up her car and goes to say sorry to him. When she gets there, he’s already dead.
