The Old Man Season 1 Episode 4 Insights and Recap
At the start of The Old Man episode 4, Zoe comes out of the trunk of Dan’s car shaking. He is about 10 feet away. No one else talks. He tells her to call her son Jason and tell him she is okay. Also, to let him know when the FBI is coming to his house.
Dan is very calm about the situation and looking back, it seems like he is trying to comfort Zoe. Even though he has less power than she does, the situation shows that he cares about her. That is the last time Zoe will use her phone to make a call. They got away from the FBI and haven’t been seen for more than three days.
Harold’s grandson plays with Angela (also known as Emily) while they talk about the case. Harold is shocked by how much Angela cares about Dan’s wife. It’s clear that she has something to do with the case, but she saves herself well. Emily calls her father and finds out what he has coming up right away. They are in Colorado right now, but they will move to Los Angeles.

Dan has a business there that invests money and has done pretty well. The real reason is to make Hamzad a target. Find someone else who has something against Hamzad and let him take it out on them. Dan also makes Angela feel better about the problem with her mother and the complicated triangle between him, Hamzad, and Angela. He tells Emily to stay away and not put herself in harm’s way, even if it is for her.
Corsair Finance is the name of the company, and Dan will go by the name of Henry Dixon. Zoe will play Marcia Dixon. Remember the phone call Dan made before he found out he had been caught in the first episode? Stuart finds them an apartment, and Dan is going to talk about the problem with Zachary, who is in charge of investments for the fund.
A key flashback also shows why Abby (who goes by the name Belour) chose Dan over Hamzad. The event mentioned was a way that Hamzad’s camp got back at the Russian soldiers. The difference between the two men is that one wants revenge and the other doesn’t.
Not the ability to make a choice, but the strength and self-control to make a more kind decision. Hamzad’s sister is wary of Dan, who used to go by the name Johnny Kohler.
Julian is back at his front-end job, where he talks with his partner about what happened with Dan. He tells Julian to get in touch with Harold, the person who gave him the task.
Julian tells the Assistant Director over the phone that there is a mole on his team. This stops the Assistant Director in his tracks. When Chase went to Dan’s house, he was ready to take the money and leave. Only if he knew someone was coming ahead of time would he have done that. Harold doesn’t say it, but we can tell from the look in his eyes that he’s thinking about Angela. Then, he meets Nina Kruger, who is Hamzad’s friend and lawyer. Angela and Waters are with him.
Nina is careful about what she says about what Hamzad wants, but Harold shoots an arrow in the dark. In the best part of the show up to this point, Harold tells Angela things about Dan that he didn’t tell her directly.
Harold hits two birds with one stone. Dan has to deal with the same things as Hamzad. The equation is perfectly balanced, which the director takes full advantage of. Given what Harold said, Nina sets up another meeting with him and the others. Zoe realizes that she likes the way of life, so she plans to get back at Dan when he comes back. There is a plan in the works, and you’ll learn about it next.
Dan wants his fund to put money into a company called “Arlson Mining & Metallurgy.” Zachary is shocked by how quickly and forcefully Dan acts. He keeps looking for a reason and finds out that Dan wants to get into the network of the company’s owner, Suleyman Pavlovich.
Suleyman is the Russian man Dan took hostage and let go when Hamzad tried to kill him. He wants Suleyman to show Hamzad how angry he is with him.
The Old Man Episode 4 Ending Explanation

Nina makes plans to meet. She asks Harold to come with her on a private plane to meet Hamzad. Dan doesn’t want Angela to come, but she has to. She doesn’t know what to do about going and can’t seem to tell the difference between Emily and Angela.
Because they are both good and bad, they are both looking for answers in their own ways. They might be the same, but what’s more important is that they both lead her down dangerous roads. Dan goes back to his own home. Zoe has made dinner, and it seems like she is more open to the idea of living with him and keeping up the act. But no, not really.
She set up a letter to be sent to the Board of Corsair Finance on the computer. It is a letter in which Marcia asks Henry to end their marriage (Dan). She wants to have more power. Now the balance of power is even, though it might be a little bit in Dan’s favor.

Well, well, well, how about that? Zoe is finally getting the hang of things. She doesn’t have to make Dan happy. She needs to take care of herself. By making this small move, she just made sure that she will live. In the last episode, we saw that Dan’s main goal is to keep himself alive.
To make sure he stays alive, he will “do anything and break everything beyond repair.” We saw Dan even think about killing Zoe, and why? A normal stop by the police. The man is paranoid, and Zoe did the right thing by making sure she has a safety net. When she asks for half of what Dan owns, she makes her role as Marcia a little too real for Dan. We’ll see how he gets out of this situation.
