RAKUTEN VIKI ANNOUNCES NEW K-DRAMA CO-PRODUCTION WITH STUDIO N: MY GIRLFRIEND IS THE MAN!
Highly Anticipated Webcomic Adaptation to Debut in 2025, Comes as Rakuten Viki Reaches 100 Million Registered Users
SAN FRANCISCO, March 7, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Rakuten Viki, the leading destination for Asian entertainment, has announced the latest addition to its lineup of original content: a new K-drama series titled My Girlfriend is The Man!, in partnership with Korean production company Studio N. Based on the popular webcomic with more than 379 million global views, the series will debut exclusively on Viki later this year. The co-production comes as Viki celebrates its rapidly growing global audience, recently reaching 100 million registered users.
My Girlfriend is The Man! stars multi-talented K-pop idols Arin (OH MY GIRL), Yoon San-Ha (ASTRO), and Chuu, as well as actor Yoo Jung Hoo. The series follows Kim Ji Eun (Arin), a young woman and university student who one day wakes up as a man (Yoo Jung Hoo). After explaining the situation to her boyfriend, Park Yun Jae (Yoon San-Ha), they decide to stay together until she returns to her original appearance. However, as they try to find a solution, fellow university student Kang Min Ju (Chuu) tries to steal Yun Jae’s heart.
While My Girlfriend is The Man! marks Viki’s first co-production partnership with Studio N, it extends the streamer’s efforts to invest in webcomic-inspired K-dramas for its ever-expanding audience. Viki is the streaming home for several other popular webcomic-inspired series, including recent breakout hit Study Group, True Beauty, A Good Day to Be a Dog, Yumi’s Cells, and My ID is Gangnam Beauty.
