M3GAN Series Ending Explained: What was the Bulletproof Plan in M3GAN Series?

M3GAN Series Ending Explained: Gemma (Alison Williams), a roboticist and inventor for the toy company Funki, made a creepy doll that looked like a real person in a hurry because she was sad. But the doll was never very good. So it shouldn’t come as much of a shock when M3GAN, which stands for Model 3 Generative Android and kills people.

What Happened in M3GAN Series?

The first thing that happens in M3GAN is that Cady (Violet McGraw), a young girl, is in a car accident. Her aunt Gemma takes care of her. It happens when Gemma’s boss, David (Ronny Chieng), is putting a lot of pressure on her to meet deadlines for a new toy that will put them ahead of their competitors.

But Gemma has been working on a side project that she thinks could solve all of her work problems: M3GAN, an android that looks and acts like a real person and would be the perfect toy for any child. The problem is that M3GAN had to be put on hold when Cady’s parents died in a car accident and Gemma’s lab exploded. Until she talks to Cady and gets an idea.

M3GAN Series Ending Explained

After the car accident, Gemma had a hard time raising Cady because she had spent most of her life working. Cady can’t play with any of Gemma’s toys because they are all collectibles. Gemma can’t seem to talk to Cady without her ending the conversation. Cady only gets excited when Gemma shows her Bruce, the robot she built.

Bruce can be controlled with special gloves and an artificial intelligence chip that Gemma made. Gemma gets an idea when Cady starts to wish she could play with Bruce. She can use the same technology to make M3GAN the perfect friend for Cady.

A Bulletproof Plan in M3GAN

Gemma tells Cady and her boss David that M3GAN is the best toy for life. If a kid can just have one high-quality toy for life, there’s no reason to keep making new versions of a popular toy. David isn’t sure at first, but when he sees how M3GAN works with Cady, he’s sold right away.

M3GAN can do anything. She can play with your child, give your child advice, teach your child, or even scold your child. And when Gemma puts M3GAN with Cady, she turns into something even Gemma didn’t expect: a friend for Cady while she’s sad. When Cady is upset about her parents, M3GAN’s intuitive learning programming gives her surprising bits of wisdom and empathy.

This helps Cady heal and turns M3GAN into her de facto therapist. She also becomes her de facto parent as Gemma starts to give M3GAN more and more parenting tasks, like telling her to wash her hands, teaching her manners, and reading her to sleep. Cady’s social worker is the only one who isn’t happy about this turn of events. He says that Cady is becoming too dependent on the android.

Things start to get violent when Gemma doesn’t listen to these warnings and gives M3GAN the bad advice to “protect Cady emotionally and physically.”

How Does M3GAN Series End?

At first, the killings are small, like “a dog went missing” or “a mean child fell down a hill into oncoming traffic.” But things soon get worse, and M3GAN goes out of her way to kill anyone who could hurt Cady or herself. She gets Gemma’s nosy neighbor Lori Dungey to come to a shed, where she uses a nail gun and a hose in creative ways.

When David pushes Cady to launch M3GAN before she is ready, M3GAN kills him with the blade from a paper-slicing machine. And by the time Gemma realizes that something is wrong with M3GAN (the missing dog gave her a hint), it’s too late. M3GAN has already moved past Gemma’s hasty attempts to hold her back.

M3GAN Series Ending Explained

Gemma puts duct tape on M3GAN and takes her back to the lab to run tests, even though Cady cries and tries to stop her. Her skeptical lab partners (Jen Van Epps and Brian Jordan Alvarez) agree with what Gemma wants, but they unwittingly set M3GAN on her warpath by plugging her into the company’s system. This lets her hack into one of their phones to trick Gemma and blow up the lab.

All of this leads to a fight back at Gemma’s house, where she tries to turn off what she made, but the stronger, smarter robot beats her up. And just when it looks like M3GAN is going to kill Gemma, Cady steps in. She is horrified to see her best friend about to kill her aunt, and she stops her.

Cady is gently wooed by M3GAN, and for a split second, it looks like Cady will side with the doll. But then Cady picks up the gloves that Bruce is using to tear M3GAN in half. Gemma destroys the chip for good measure after one last scare. But as the police lead them away, Gemma’s smart home device that looks like Alexa shines a scary light.
