It’s come to pass! We’ve been waiting for this news! Almost. So far, there haven’t been many new stories about Ginny and Georgia. Beyond Netflix’s “It’s coming” stamp, fans have been left to sit at the table and wait patiently for crumbs.
So, fill your plate (or fill a spoon – it really is only a teensy bit of IMPORTANT info). Debra J. Fisher, who is the show’s executive producer and writer, has shared some exciting news about season two.
The showrunner put up a post on TikTok to let people know that filming was done for good.
“The most common question I get as Ginny and Georgia’s showrunner is, ‘Where’s season two?'” she said (we’re not complaining, but *whispers* where is it?)
Fisher went on: “What I know and can tell you is that we just finished. What does that mean then? Ginny and Georgia will be dubbed into all the languages that don’t speak English in 14 weeks “Fisher said on a social media site.
“Until we hear from Netflix officially, that takes us to the end of the year.”
I wonder if Santa will put a brand-new season of Ginny and Georgia in our Christmas stockings. We have done a great job, or at least better than Georgia.
Brianne Howey, who goes by the name Georgia, told E! News on October 8 that there will be more episodes. She says that season two will come out sooner rather than later.
“Soon, it’ll be here!” she said. “I swear it’s on the way!”
Howey gave the same reason for the delay as Fisher, which is that 180 translations will be needed for the release everywhere:
“It takes about 4 months to do that. So the show itself isn’t the problem. The play is over.”
Netflix has said that the show will come back for a second season in April 2021. According to Variety, “more than 52 million member households watched it in its first 28 days.”
Debra J. Fisher, the showrunner and executive producer, said, “We are so grateful for the amazing response and love you all have shown Ginny and Georgia.” “We’re especially thankful to Brianne (Howey) and Toni (Gentry) because they always set the highest standards. We can’t wait for season two to start so we can go back to Wellsbury.”
Fisher is part of an all-female creative team with Sarah Lampert, the show’s creator and executive producer, and Anya Adams, the show’s director, and executive producer.
Even though the first season came out in February 2021, the show has seen a bit of a comeback in the past few months. FlixPatrol says that it was back in the Top 10 most-watched shows in 17 countries, including the UK, Australia, Croatia, Norway, and Lebanon, at the end of April 2022.
Even though it’s hard to say what caused the sudden rise in interest, it’s thought that the sudden rise in videos about the show shared on the app TikTok made people want to give it a try.
Season two will have 10 one-hour episodes. Filming for it began in February 2022, and lead actress Antonia Gentry said she was done with the show on April 22, 2022.

Sarah Lampert, showrunner, told Hollywood Life: “Joe’s the only character who straddles both. Zion does, but he’s so important to both. Joe is something to Georgia and Ginny. That’s awesome.”
“Let’s not forget that flashback when Georgia meets Joe,” Fisher said. “He discusses Wellsbury. Joe helps her see what a lovely place this may be.”
“I adore that flashback because it was an aha moment in the writers’ room,” Lampert said.
“Even at 16, she had a plan. To find out she’s pregnant and witness youngsters on a field trip talking about prom and fancy sunglasses was her concept of accomplishment.”

But it’s not clear if Ginny’s dad, Zion (Nathan Mitchell), and his teenage self will show up again.
What Happens in Ginny and Georgia’s Second Season?
Season one covered A LOT of ground, but every time a problem was solved, another one quickly popped up. By the time the credits rolled, almost all of the main characters were in a dangerous situation.
Ginny and Austin rode away from Wellsbury on a motorcycle as the show came to an end.
Georgia’s daughter was at her breaking point after the private investigator hired by Kenny’s ex-wife surprised her at the Blue Farm Café and told her that her mother was a murderer. In the process, he told Ginny about Georgia’s wolfsbane, which she and her brother then got rid of.
Austin still didn’t forgive Georgia for not sending the letters he wrote to his dad. As a result, his relationship with his mother was at an all-time low.
Season two will likely center on the motorbike road trip. Ginny retrieves a critical item before the season’s conclusion.
“When she’s packing, she grabs the book Zion hands her,” Gentry added (via Express). “If you were paying attention, you know he included an address.”
This address could lead to her father, Gil Timmins.
Georgia didn’t know her kids ran off since she was celebrating Mayor Paul’s re-election.
She selected Wellsbury over her ex Zion’s Boston apartment. With Kenny’s body gone and her money issues solved (for now), she thought her new life was coming together.
Ginny and Austin will likely be on the road when season two begins. Will they return on their own, or will Georgia go find them?
The show doesn’t go beyond Wellsbury, so they’ll return.
Sarah Lampert said in 2021, before Ginny and Georgia was renewed, that we’re just getting to know Wellsbury.
“We just started unearthing layers for all characters, across the board, that Deb and I want to go into,” she said.
Gentry told Elle, “I don’t know if we’ll be renewed or not.” I want to see Ginny get down and dirty, transform into Georgia and exhibit that vicious streak she has. That would be fascinating to explore, but I’m taking things day by day right now.

We haven’t seen any new footage yet, but since filming is over, we’re still holding out hope that something will come out soon.
