Between Us Episode 8 Insights and Review: Win Asks Team to Give Him a Kiss
At the beginning of Between Us episode 8, Team is worried about his exams while he tries to study as fast as he can. Win knows that Team likes to snack on wafers, so he brings some to him and helps him study since Team’s grades were so bad. Team says that he had accepted the fact that he was not good at school.
He asks Win to help him study, and Win agrees to do so in exchange for a kiss on the forehead at the end of each session. Win says that he was only tutoring Team and no one else because Team was special to him and he was working hard in school. Bee tries to apologize to Prince by calling him about the scandal he was in.
Someone took pictures of Bee taking Prince for a ride on his bike, and those pictures went viral on the internet. Bee wants to tell the actor how he feels, but he ends up being too scared. Bee calls Prince back and gets up the nerve to tell him he wants to go out with him.
Win Asks Team to Give Him a Kiss
The next morning, Win asks Team to give him a kiss on the cheek to wish him luck on his tests. Team reluctantly agrees since he would never be able to teach Win. Manow does everything she can to help Team study for his test, but in the end, she makes fun of him in the cafeteria. Win drives Team back to his dorm after the test and asks him about his paper.
Team thanks Win for his help and tell him that he will be staying at his apartment like every other day. That night, Win and Team talk about Dean and Pharm’s idea that they are soulmates based on a red thread. When Team says that the red thread means a bond that can’t be broken, Win says that a red thread can be broken just like any other thread.
Win says that at the very least, a relationship should be tied together with something as strong as a hemp rope. He says that the hemp rope is their version of a red thread. When Win’s parents come to visit, Team is at his house. Win says that Team is his college junior, which surprises Team a little.
Win’s dad is mad that Waan is being lazy again, but Wiew tries to defend their older brother in front of their dad. Win asks Team to take Wiew outside so he can talk to his father alone. Wiew talks about how his dad’s work to grow the family business took him away from his sons and put a lot of stress on his older brothers.
Team tries to calm down Wiew while Win’s mother brings him some snacks and apologizes for her husband’s noise. She asks Team, who is Win’s friend and is a year younger than Win, if Win was seeing someone. Team says he didn’t know that and says he’s sorry. Team goes away confused and sad.
Win Has a Serious Talk With His Dad
Win has a serious talk with his dad, which makes the old man realize how important it is to put his family ahead of his business. Wiew tells Win that Team has left, and Win wonders why the junior didn’t meet him before leaving. Team is having drinks with his friends, and he brings up the fact that he isn’t sure what’s going on with his relationship.
If he was worried and overthinking about it, his friends told him to make the first move and talk to her about their relationship. Team does what they’re told and decides to talk to Win. The next day, Win and Team are getting coffee at a cafe before going to tutor Win. After arguing over coffee, they go to Team’s room to study. Win says in the room that Team will never forget the things he teaches the junior with all his heart.
Team says that he remembered some things because Win kissed him on the forehead after telling him those things. Team finally gets up the nerve to ask him about their relationship status after the two have been flirting with each other. He ends up giving up, but before he gets in the shower, he jumps up and gives Win a kiss on the forehead.
The next day, Team, Manow, and Pharm check their scores, and everyone, including Team, is shocked to see that Team got a B. Manow and Pharm hope to be tutored by Win too considering he was able to get a failing student, like Team score a B. Team explains that Win charges a fee of forehead kisses from his tutees.
He changes the subject by going to the cafeteria. At the same time, Prince invites A, Bee, and Sea to a party at his house because the actor couldn’t go out for drinks. Dean picks Pharm up from college so they can go see Christmas lights together. He also brings Pharm a change of clothes.
Team goes to Win’s dorm room to meet him, but they think that Win will be spending Christmas with his family. Win is in the apartment, which is a shock, and he invites the junior in. Team tells Win that Pharm was with the person he loved, Dean, and Win tells Team that Manow was also with Phruek.
The junior tells Win that he got a B on his tests and wants to celebrate with a gift. Team is shocked when Win gives him the key to his room as a gift. He pouts and asks Win to go see the Christmas lights, and Win has no choice but to say yes.
Between Us Episode 8 Review
I wish the story was written better, but Between Us seems to be slowing down for viewers now. Team trauma hasn’t been solved yet, but all of a sudden we’re talking about something else: their relationships. I don’t know what else Win could do to show that Team was important to him.
I think this is true because Win told his parents that Team was his younger brother. Asian families still have strong cultural ties, so most parents don’t understand the idea of being gay, no matter how trendy or cool it might seem.
I wish there was more romance between Team and Win, and it’s safe to say that they had a lot more action in Until We Meet Again as a side couple than they do now as the main characters.
